MAMA CRITERIA
We know that there are a lot of remarkable women in South Africa. See if you meet the criteria to be a Clover Mama Afrika.
Please note: We are not appointing new Mamas now, but you can still see if you meet the criteria should we open submissions in the future.
To be considered as a Clover Mama Afrika – there are criteria to be met first.
We appoint two types of Mamas, see where you fit in.
Care Centre
- A Mama has already started a nurturing and protective environment for the people they care for in their community.
- She has managed such a care centre for a minimum of five years.
- A Mama has started with a group who work on a specific skill or skills for a minimum of 3 to 5 years.
- A Mama owns an existing dwelling that accommodates their work.
- Her work receives the respect and endorsement of the community.
- She is willing to receive skills training that will enable her to better the self-help project(s).
- She is committed to passing her new-found skills to create new or more jobs.
- She understands that Clover does not give money, only skills training and equipment.
Small Economic Development
- A Mama has implemented her skills to start her own business.
- She has been growing her business for a minimum of 3 to 5 years.
- A Mama owns an existing property that accommodates their work.
- The quality of her work receives the respect and endorsement of the community.
- She is willing to receive skills training that will enable her to grow her business.
- She is committed to passing her new-found skills to employees and to create new or more jobs.
- She understands that Clover does not give money, only skills training and equipment.
