MAMA LINAH MALULEKE
Bahle Care Centre
Mama Linah Maluleke always wanted to be a nurse but got into disability care by default. After struggling to find appropriate care for her disabled son, Mama Linah noticed a need in her community. Determined to provide a caring, environment for differently abled children, she opened Vutomi I Nyiko Stimulation Centre. She actively sought out children who were being hidden away and kept at home because of their disabilities. Not only did she provide them with general care, but also gave them pre-school education, multi-stimulation massage therapy and transport to and from her centre. Sadly, she passed away in 2009 leaving a legacy in the community of Meadowland, Soweto. Her daughter, Mama Felicity took up the torch and continues the good work her mother had done.
