MAMA RINA MALAN
Amadea Safe House
There are few things as detrimental to the future of society than abandoned children who are forced to grow up without the support and guidance that they need. Mama Rina provides hope to those who are found, as a successful businesswoman, she decided to open her heart and home to those in desperate need of a loving, supportive environment. Working closely with the Department of Social services she and her husband provide a haven to children placed in her care until the juvenile court’s investigations are complete.
Mama Rina believes that love can change everything and has a holistic approach. She provides a nurturing environment to stimulate the children’s creative, intellectual, and physical growth, with a core focus on Early Childhood Development. But Mama Rina’s commitment to the community doesn’t end there; she also acts as a mentor to HIV/AIDS home-based care organisations and assists with feeding schemes in her surrounding area. Mama Rina even reaches out to impoverished rural and local communities providing them with skills development training giving women the necessary skills to become self-sufficient.
