Serves 12 – 14


1 x tin whole peeled tomatoes, liquidised or mashed
1 x tin tomato and onion mix
1 x tin whole kernel corn, drained
1 x tin cream style sweet corn
1 x tin chick peas, drained and / or 1 x tin mixed beans
10 ml chicken stock powder

3 ml dried origanum
3 ml garlic and herb seasoning
1 liter water
Dried spring onion and or parsley (or fresh if available)
250 ml Clover Long Life Cream
30 ml cake flour


  1. Combine all the ingredients except cream in a large saucepan and bring to boil, over moderate heat, stirring from time to time. Reduce heat and simmer gently and partly covered for 20 minutes.
  2. Mix the cream with the cake flour and stir into the soup. Simmer and stir to thicken. Adjust seasoning and consistency by adding a little extra milk or water if the soup is too thick. Serve piping hot.


Designed for safaris or camping, all the ingredients used are canned, dried, or long life. If cooked at home some of the ingredients can be replaced by their fresh counterparts. The flavour, texture, and nourishment provided by this soup is excellent.
