ALL BRAN & SUNFLOWER RUSKS

Makes 1.5kg – 2 kg

Ingredients

500 g Butter
500 ml Buttermilk
15 ml Vanilla essence
6x 250 ml Cake flour
50 ml Baking powder

7 ml Salt
375 ml Sugar
3x 250 ml All Bran, Slightly chopped
250 ml Sunflower seeds

Method

  1. Preheat oven to 180°C.
  2. Spray & cook pans.
  3. Melt butter and cool off.
  4. Stir buttermilk and vanilla to it.
  5. Sift flour, baking powder and salt.
  6. Add sugar, All Bran and seeds.
  7. Mix well.
  8. Roll balls and put closely together.
  9. Bake 45-60 minutes.
  10. Break balls loose and put on baking tins.
  11. Dry at 70°C overnight.
