Serves 6


12 slices of white bread
Clover Mooi River Salted Choice Butter
chutney (optional)
1 onion, thinly sliced

2 tomatoes, thinly sliced
enough Elite Mature Cheddar cheese, thinly sliced
salt and pepper to taste


  1. Spread the butter thickly on the sides of bread. Don’t skimp on the butter.
  2. Spread chutney over 6 of the slices if preferred.
  3. Arrange the sliced onion and tomato and the Cheddar cheese on the 6 slices of bread spread with chutney. Season to taste with salt and pepper.
  4. Place the other 6 slices of bread on top of the first 6 and place on a braai grid.
  5. Braai over the coals on both sides until golden brown and until the cheese has melted.
  6. Serve hot.
