HAMBURGER PATTIES / FRIKKADELS

Ingredients

600g Mince meat
1 Small onion chopped
5ml Garlic Chopped
5ml Salt
2.5ml Pepper

7.5ml Worcestershire Sauce
1 Egg beaten
5ml Stock powder (Dry)
2.5ml Nutmeg
25ml Fresh Parsley & Thyme Herbs

Method

  1. Select a suitable pan for frying.
  2. Fry chopped onions and garlic in a little butter, or oil until see through.
  3. Please all ingredients in a bowl and mix thoroughly by hand until all the ingredients are evenly mixed.
  4. Weigh approximately 100 – 120g of the mixture and form into a ball with your hands.
  5. Flatten the ball to form a round shape approximately 10 – 15 mm thick.
  6. The patties / frikkadels are ready for frying. Work carefully as the patty is delicate and may break apart easily.

VARIATIONS:

  1. Different kinds of mincemeat, or combinations thereof, can be used.
  2. Bobotie spices, or cheese cubes, etc. can be added to create your own unique flavours.
