Serves 8


500G Butter
1pct Phyllo Pastry
4 x 250ml Cooked Spinach
750ml Cheese (mixture of Mozzarella, Cheddar and Feta)

500ml Fresh Cream
4 Eggs (jumbo size)
Sesame or Poppy Seeds


  1. Preheat the oven to 180°C.
  2. Use a big oblong or square oven proof dish.
  3. Melt butter and smear 5 layers of phyllo sheets well. Place in oven proof dish (let extra hang over and fold on top afterwards).
  4. Mix spinach, cheese, eggs, and cream together and place on top of phyllo pastry.
  5. Cut remainder phyllo sheets into tagliatelle strips and place on top of spinach mixture – brush pastry strips with melted butter.
  6. Sprinkle the Sesame or poppy seeds over dish.
  7. Bake for 1.5 hours to 2 hours.


Make sure that you brush a thin layer of butter on each and every phyllo sheet!
This pie can bake between 90 and 130 minutes!
Let it cool off a little before you cut into it!
